The thermostat on the 1.8L Turbo is on the bottom of the sump pump. You need to change under the car, but it is easily accessible and does not change the difficulty. It will not remove the clear plastic cover under the radiator to give access to the thermostat box at the bottom of the water pump and have plenty of room to work. Remove the shield. In addition to the thermostat housing, water pump housing is a drain plug. You can remove this plug into the drain pump body of water, if you will, but not really necessary and remove the drain plug is water that replace the seal before the reinstall. It is not even necessary to remove the radiator hose that is connected to the thermostat housing, too. Simply insert your trash in the thermostat housing and loosen the 2 screws holding the thermostat housing at the bottom of the sump pump and then easily thermostat housing, hammer, free jar of water to pan and allow leakage of coolant into the drain until it stops. Then remove the shell 2TS guarantee thermostat housing on the underside of the water pump and replace the thermostat housing. Remove the old thermostat and the old O-ring seal and clean the O-ring seal groove. Insert the new O-ring seal groove and make sure you install the new thermostat with the front of the fountain of the thermostat in the pump body. And be careful not to over tighten the screws on the thermostat housing, shooting and easy. I have the exact specifications for tightening of bolts, but I hope that those between 80 and 85 "inches would" lbs. Do not let your husband the dishes. You can find the thermostat. Easy! Good luck.

I know nothing about this particular model to know, but in general you will find the thermostat on the upper radiator hose to the top of the engine block. If you look at the thermostat housing. Through a series of ratchet, unscrew the two screws and lift it out of the box.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: Use a wire brush to remove the old one. Make sure the housing and the block is completely clean of the old board.

Remove the old thermostat (on how the old thermostat is set on the spot). Replace with new thermostat. Apply joint compound to both sides by the new Commission. Let it sit for 2 minutes before the seal on the casing. Line with the screw holes. Screw and do it again.
